June, July and August are three intense months for the African nations. The Africa Cups come one after another and the stakes are more and more important.
On this July 20th, Africa Cup 1A is the only one not to be ended yet. However, we already know, all the promotions and the relegation’s !
A point thus on these teams which shone, and those which will try again their luck next year :
AFRICA CUP 1A :
08.08 – Namibia v Kenya
08.15 – Namibia v Zimbabwe
Winner : Namibia, Kenya or Zimbabwe
Relegated : Tunisia
AFRICA CUP 1B :
Promoted : Uganda
Relegated : Mauritius
AFRICA CUP 1C :
Promoted : Zambia
This year, no relegation for group C.
Next year will begin the qualifications for the 2019 RWC !
Teams of the group C will be the first ones to participate to the competition, which will end in 2018. The winner will be directly qualified and the runners up will play the repechage.
As announced earlier, in 2018, the tournament AC 1A will be played with 4 teams with home and away matches. Africa Cups 1B and 1C will undergo changes of organization as well ; Rugby Africa is working on different options of competition by taking into account sports and financial aspect. The fairest and most viable of the proposals will then be organized.
